Excellence and Leadership Academy recently organized a seminar on “Corporate Governance in Companies and Organizations” as part of its educational lecture series.
The seminar, held last Saturday, featured Mr. Marwan Al-Khouli, a certified trainer and consultant.
The seminar focused on corporate governance (its principles and values), the role and responsibilities of corporate board of directors, and the concept of independence within the board. It also highlighted the duties and tasks of board committees, senior management’s responsibility towards corporate governance, and governance in non-profit institutions. Several issues regarding governance in small and medium-sized enterprises were discussed, along with criteria for selecting board members and the governance culture in organizations and companies.
Through organizing such educational seminars, the Excellence and Leadership Academy aims to contribute to raising awareness about important issues related to empowering companies and organizations with methodologies, tools, and strategies for achieving institutional excellence.
